The directors are Graham Hurwitz and Ian Geller.
Managers are Pat Thomson, Debbie Chanrasmi (accounting/taxation compliance) Linda Young and Preet Gill (Self Managed Superannuation Funds).
Most of our directors and managers have been with the firm and its predecessor for more than 10 years. Many staff are also long serving. The stability of our trained team means that clients’ work is carried out by the same people from year to year. This is efficient and provides our staff with the background regarding client affairs necessary as the basis for formulating considered advice.
Graham Hurwitz, a Director of Hurwitz Geller, joined a predecessor firm in 1981. With over 30 years’ experience in the Accountancy profession, he has significant experience in taxation advice and planning, including Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax and State Taxes.
He has advised clients in numerous transactions including sales to companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and private equity. He acts as advisor to small to medium sized enterprises and family groups.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Degree and is accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants as a Self Managed Superannuation Fund Specialist. He is a registered tax agent, company auditor and Self-Managed Superannuation Fund auditor. He provides litigation support advice and acts in mediation and settlement proceedings.
He acted as Chief Financial Officer of Allegiance Mining Limited (then listed on the Australian Securities Exchange) until that company’s takeover by Zinifex Limited (then listed on the Australian Securities Exchange).
He is a Director of the Australian Institute of Music Limited and an advisor to the Boards of various groups of private companies.
Ian Geller, a director of Hurwitz Geller, joined a predecessor firm in 1988. He has over 25 years’ experience in the Accountancy profession in Australia specialising mainly in taxation advice and planning.
He has advised many clients regarding the purchase or sale of businesses. He acts as advisor to small to medium sized enterprises and family groups. He provides litigation support advice and acts in settlement proceedings for family law matters.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australian and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. He is a registered tax agent, company auditor and Self Managed Superannuation Fund auditor.
