The director is Ian Geller.

Managers are Pat Thomson, Debbie Chanrasmi (accounting/taxation compliance) Linda Young and Preet Gill (Self Managed Superannuation Funds).

Most of our directors and managers have been with the firm and its predecessor for more than 10 years. Many staff are also long serving. The stability of our trained team means that clients’ work is carried out by the same people from year to year. This is efficient and provides our staff with the background regarding client affairs necessary as the basis for formulating considered advice.

Graham Hurwitz, a consultant of Hurwitz Geller, joined a predecessor firm in 1981. With over 30 years’ experience in the Accountancy profession, he has significant experience in taxation advice and planning, including Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax and State Taxes.

Ian Geller, a director of Hurwitz Geller, joined a predecessor firm in 1988. He has over 25 years’ experience in the Accountancy profession in Australia specialising mainly in taxation advice and planning.

History

The firm’s predecessor commenced business as a chartered accountancy practice in 1977. Graham Hurwitz joined the firm as an employee in 1981. In 1984, Robert Krochmalik and Graham absorbed the practice into Krochmalik & Hurwitz Pty Limited. Ian Geller joined Krochmalik & Hurwitz Pty Limited in 1988.

This firm operated until 2007 when the shareholders disposed of it to WHK Horwath (now Crowe Horwath) (listed on the Australian Securities Exchange).

Graham Hurwitz and Ian Geller recommenced practice as Hurwitz Geller Pty Limited in February 2009.
